Getting That Correct Eyebrow Shape

So a rare occasion happened today and I went back onto Pinterest, while on there I was scrolling through the hair & beauty section when I came across this. It's a step by step guide by Lauren Conrad on how to achieve the correct brow shape when doing your own eyebrows.

I've never seen anything like this before and when I do my own eyebrows next I will be sure to follow this.

What do you think of this? Do you follow any of these steps when plucking your eyebrows?

Eyebrows: Plucking vs Waxing vs Shaving

To wax, pluck or shave is a question that has crossed every girls mind at one point. o today I'm going to be writing a post with some pros and cons of each of the methods.

First up is waxing, this is typically done in a local beauty salon by a professional and each appointment is around under £10 (around where I live at least). It's done by either heating up eyebrow wax and then using material to pull out the hairs or wax strips. I have used this technique in the past and I didn't find the pain too bad, it just came to a point where I found another technique from convenient for me.

Pros:

  • It gives a cleaner look
  • Removes the finest of hairs, even the little blonde ones
  • Lasts 4-6 weeks

Cons:
  • Can lead to minor irritation (Skin will be red after)
  • Not accurate
  • Messy

Next up is shaving, this is usually used by people who want to avoid pain and want a quick job. It's done with a small shaver to make the job accurate. Many people have said to never shave but I personally use this method and I find it to be good for me, you just have to be available to always keep it up.

Pros:
  • Good control in shaping
  • Easy and quick
  • Painless
  • Cheaper in the run
Cons:
  • Stubbles
  • Requires upkeep
This is the set of shavers I use for my eyebrows. £1.48 on eBay.

And lastly there is plucking, this is done with tweezers and the hairs are pulled out one by one. I find with this method you can get carried away and over pluck and I found it too painful for myself.

Pros:
  • Pulls entire root out at once
  • Works best for stray hairs
Cons:
  • Painful
  • Takes longer
  • Plucking too much can stop them from growing back

The Sale Continues - VIVO Makeup Haul!

Hey guys so the other day I received an email from a makeup company that I'd never heard of before, it said that everything on their site was half price and if I spent over £20 I got free postage. Obviously I did a little bit of research and found out that they are stocked in Tesco stores and are run by the same people as MUA. After finding this out I had a sneaky little look at the site and bought some stuff, due to lack of funds at the moment I didn't get a lot but I really like what I got.
