The Blurb
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion...she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit--more sparkly, more fun, more wild--the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket--a gifted inventor--steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.
My Opinion
I have to say I really enjoyed this book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as Anna and the French Kiss. Maybe it was because I read this straight after and I was still attached to those characters more, maybe. Maybe I would have liked it more if I'd read this on it own without reading Anna and the French Kiss first? (but then it wouldn't of made sense I know). When I first started to read this Lola kind of irritated me a little bit, I think that might be because when I read chick-lit I find it so much better to read when the main female character is more relatable to me (it gives me hope, don't laugh ok :).) But more into the story she grew on me, when Cricket and they start talking properly arrives she becomes much more likable. Plus I really liked the Anna and St.Clair additions to the story, they're not the main characters or anywhere near to it but you still know what's happening with them after the first book. Overall the story was written well and after reading the two stories in about 3 days I really want Isla and the happily ever after to come out now.
